PIAA PROFESSIONAL HALOGEN LIGHTING INFORMATION & TECHNOLOGY

All light bodies are constructed of die cast aluminum with an electrostatic black powder coating. Aluminum provides a strong, lightweight, rust-free housing that dissipates heat better than plastic or steel while extending bulb life. Die cast zinc, channel-lock mounting brackets are rustproof, reduce vibration and lamp loosening while allowing maximum adjustment during installation.
· Lens & Reflector: The performance of a light is only as good as the lens and reflector. Lenses are leaded crystal, optial glass which is temper coated four (4) times to resist damage from road debris. The zinc coated reflector prevents rust. The lens and reflector are bonded together with a heat resistant silicone, reducing the possibility of dust and moisture build-up inside the lamp.
· Amber vs. Clear fog Lens: The disadvantage of the traditional Amber Lens is that 20-30% of the light efficiency is lost as it passes through an amber col-ored lens. The only exception being the "ION CRYSTAL TECHNOLOGY", which uses a purple coating on the lens that transforms white light into amber with little or no loss of candlepower.
· Halogen Bulbs: More efficient and deliver a greater, whiter light with the same power consumption. Halogen gas redeposits the burned tungsten particles onto the filament instead of inside the glass. Halogen bulbs last longer and shine brighter over the life of the bulb.
· Candlepower: A measurement of light intensity at it's light source. For each light pictured, the candlepower is shown.
· Wiring System: Professional, pre-assembled wiring harness comes complete with solid state relays and fuses which are enclosed in injection molded, dust and moisture resistant housings. Includes pre-installed switch. Quick connect wiring reduces the amount of current lost and lightens the load on the alternator.
